!!! The ‘Tude Dude LOVES sports. Maybe even a little too much at times (he’s still VERY mad about the Dodgers loss in game 7 of the 2017 World Series to the… clears throat… Houston Astros). Despite all the pain that can be felt from the years of ineptitude, it really can all be worth it in one magical moment when your favorite team raises the championship trophy
especially after many years of patience and loyalty (just ask Chicago Cubs fans). However, when The ‘Tude Dude doesn’t feel like waiting 100+ years for this awesome feeling, he “forces” his favorite teams success by playing sports video games which has consistently provided a nice consolation for as long as he can remember (it was EXTREMELY therapeutic to beat the breaks off of the ‘Stros with L.A. in RBI Baseball 2017 
right after they lost… take that Altuve 
!!!).
Sports games come in all shapes and sizes primarily ranging from the easy to pick up arcade types (like Arch Rivals 
and Hit the Ice 
where you can jump into a game quickly and start scoring points within minutes) to the hardcore simulations (such as World Series Baseball ’95 
and Madden NFL 98 
where you can control rosters through trades and free agent signings, and also play full comprehensive seasons with complete statistics for every player and team). Are the 4 major sports not really your thing? Well check out some of these other quality “alternative-sports” titles such as Kings of the Beach 
(NES), Brunswick World Tournament of Champions
(SNES), Mario Andretti Racing

Over the years, The ‘Tude Dude has found enjoyment in a ton of these titles and many of the professional athletes gaming counterparts have become as synonymous with great characters from other genre’s in the realm of video games to him. Pros such as Bo Jackson 
and Michael Jordan
have reached an otherworldly level both as real life stars and virtual ones, and playing with great sports athletes in a video game is just as fun as playing with any action or mascot character across the gaming spectrum as far as he’s concerned. Furthermore, the unpredictable nature of playing through a long and grueling season in a sports video game makes for a truly satisfying story that’s on par with many of the best drama-filled experiences found in gaming. The fact of the matter is, I love sports and I love video games… therefore I must love sports video games right??? Well it turns out the answer is a resounding YES as the ability to virtually play with all my favorite sports athletes blended together like unhinged ‘tude and the 1980’s Bad Boy Detroit Pistons 
for me, breathing additionally unnecessary life into an already fast-growing hobby with no end in sight!
Alright… so I like sports video games (this is a gamer blog after all) however The ‘Tude Dude has his nose firmly planted into the real thing as well and carries an astute opinion across the battlegrounds of athletic competition most notably the 4 major North American contests (MLB 
, NFL 
, NBA 
and NHL 
) so you can expect different posts covering random topics across this spectrum as well. Whether it be a fun retrospective of past events or a recent regaling of the current landscape, The ‘Tude Dude loves to keep up with the sports universe any way he can and roots loudly for his favorite squads (the L.A. Dodgers 
, Dallas Cowboys 
, L.A. Lakers 
and L.A. Kings 
) while closely observing the surrounding landscape all for the sake of unbridled interest. Since this overall realm feels fluid in the types of ideas that could be conceived, any new concepts that come about during my writing tenure will be posted below in the “Latest Additions” section as they come. So join me, The ‘Tude Dude as I dive headlong into the wide world of sports and share my perspective of the ever-evolving and always entertaining circus of physical competition at the professional level.
